WINTER : life the snow

The soft, white cloak that wraps Vezza d’Oglio in winter seems to muffle voices and sounds and brings the ancient charm of the mountains with it; silent and eternal, it cradles its treasures under the snow, only to reveal them at each reawakening in spring.
Snow lovers can experience the enchanting winter season and its numerous opportunities both here and in the surroundings; cross country skiing, mountain climbing, ice skating and long walks in the snow, armed with “caspole”; characteristic racket-like snow shoes.
Thanks to the proximity of the skiing area “Adamello Ski” in Ponte di Legno-Tonale-Upper Valle Camonica, it is also possible to enjoy Alpine skiing.
The valleys around the town also offer tricky climbs up icefalls for the more expert and daring.

The “Adamello Ski” area, between Lombardy and Trentino, is today, one of the most popular ski resorts in Europe and offers a good 100 km of pistes, all of which are inter-linked with modern, fast ski lifts.
Thanks to the ski area in Temù, with wide, panoramic pistes and the cable car which connects Pontedilegno to Tonale, a vortex of skiing offers has been created to satisfy everyone’s wishes. Cross country skiing is certainly not wanting and, in fact, the four pistes at the bottom of the valley on the Trentino side are particularly popular and have been approved for national and international competitions.
Snow also means snowboarding, skiing in fresh snow or adventures on bobs pulled by huskies – in fact Tonale hosts the most important Italian school for sledge dogs. Adamello Ski is an interesting location in summer, too with the chance to go skiing in the summer on the Presena glacier which, at 3,000 metres, guarantees snow and fun even during the warm months of the year. Adamello Ski is not only snow and in fact there’s no lack of routes for trekking or mountain bike rides. A great sporting area and unspoilt countryside in an area to be enjoyed all year round.
